Art exhibition: Ignacio del Río Art Gallery, Málaga 2022, Spain.

Text exhibition by Carmen Cortés: “To enter Yolanda Relinque’s studio, as happens in many other spaces in which artistic work has taken over, is to enter a territory in which apparently banal objects, often reused, the usual tools of the trade and the most surprising creations assault our senses together with the breeze of the garden and the artist’s garden breeze and the artist’s playful laughter.
Soft silks, taffetas with intricate motifs, brightly dyed cottons, golden trimmings, gold trimmings gold trimmings, antique buttons, remnants, jewellery and hanging garments tell us about the designer, about the designer, the seamstress. But many other signs of different activities await us of different activities await us in a large, bright space. The boxes are stacked with ceramics that formed motley murals are stacked in boxes, others have been placed on the wall in a melancholy memory of the melancholy reminder of the reveries of the Russian Chagall; in a hollow, on the furniture, dolls, sometimes
furniture, dolls, sometimes evocations of Bellmer; recovered objects, strangely assembled, redefining strangely brought together, their meanings redefined by being combined with drawings, fabrics or other often unexpected material, rescued other often unexpected material, rescued from another era; and drawings, hundreds of drawings on exceptional
drawings, hundreds of drawings on exceptional papers, brought from the land of the rising sun, handmade, black on white, and handmade, black on white, white on black, colour.

Relinque’s works, ceramics and drawings, combine the artist’s memories and those of the women who preceded her in her family, the motifs of her memories of the artist and the women who preceded her in the family, traditional motifs and surrealist traditional motifs and surrealist dreams. Often with a strong social and feminist social and feminist demands, subtly worked although very harsh, in Yolanda Relinque’s works.
works of Yolanda Relinque we rediscover the link between women and traditional knowledge, their role in traditional knowledge, their role in activating the memories of other times, in preserving the ancient techniques of using preserving ancient techniques for the use of minerals and plants, for the production of objects of daily use and for the
the production of everyday objects and the elaboration of ingredients used in the arts, clothing, food and drink. Arts, clothing, games, cooking and natural medicines.
This exhibition begins the cycle that we have called “Miradas de Core”, which
which will take place in the last four months of 2022 at the art gallery El Estudio de Ignacio del Río. The art gallery, featuring three women artists. With them, with Core or Perséfone, the Queen of the Underworld, with her terrible, accusing gaze, who, with her cyclical return, the recovery of life on earth, we want to remember that the return of spring is becoming more and more spring is becoming more and more difficult in our environment, threatened by droughts, pollutions, pollution and drought, pollution, urban sprawl, tourist encroachment, etc.”.
